Description:
Humoresque is a vocal song adaptation of one of Antonín Dvořák’s most famous melodies, originally composed in 1894 as part of his Humoresques, Op. 101. The piece became widely popular in both instrumental and vocal arrangements and has remained one of Dvořák’s most enduring works.

This edition was issued as part of The Master Library of Musical Classics, a series dedicated to presenting canonical European compositions for domestic singing and piano performance. Such publications played an important role in bringing classical repertoire into American homes during the early decades of the 20th century.

The restrained cover design reflects the educational and archival intent of the series. The back cover features a detailed illustrated advertisement for Everybody’s Favorite Piano Pieces, promoting a large compilation of classical and popular works, and offering insight into period music marketing and home-music culture.

This is an original period printing, not a reproduction, and survives as a representative example of how late-Romantic European music was adapted and circulated in early American sheet-music publishing.
