Behind the White Veil (Vicki Barr Flight Stewardess Series) Hardcover – January 1, 1951

Grosset and Dunlap published the Vicki Barr Flight Stewardess Series from 1947 to 1964. In the first of the series, Victoria Barr is accepted into the training program for Stewardess training. In the first book, she must determine if the passengers are involved in criminal activity.

In the sixth book, Behind the White Veil, Vicki is involved in an adventure with an old friend of her father’s, Professor Hyacith, who is searching for a valley in Alaska. The landing damages the plane, and Vicki discovers the passengers have hidden agendas including stolen crown jewels thought to be in the valley. She finds herself in grave danger.
